Castlevania Nocturne introduces a new generation of vampire hunters

Netflix Geeked Week presented the next season of the animated series Castlevania: Castlevania Nocturne, now featuring a new Belmont.

No, there will be no Castlevania Season 5 for the anime series. But Netflix Geeked Week didn’t end without having anything on the Castlevania franchise. Instead, we’re getting a new series called Castlevania Nocturne – starring Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor and Sypha from the first series that Netflix initially mislabeled as their son.

The climactic ending to Season 4 shook fans as the big battle that unfolded settled the score once and for all. But Castlevania fans know there’s more to the franchise than just a vampire hunter. The game’s story spans several centuries with different protagonists from the same family, almost all hunting the same vampire – Count Dracula. This time around, we’ll follow the exploits of Richter Belmont, considered one of the most powerful vampire hunters to ever wield the Vampire Hunter whip.

Richter is one of the most popular Castlevania protagonists of all time, even being a guest character for Simon Belmont in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He’s starred in several Castlevania games in the past, but most notably Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, the half of the iconic Tetralogy that ended with Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow. The Netflix show is expected to follow the plot and setting of Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, two games set in the late 18th century with the French Revolution as the backdrop. Returning characters from the Netflix original show include Count Dracula and his son Alucard, while characters set to join the series from the games include Maria Renard, a distant relative of the Belmont clan.

Castlevania Nocturne has just been announced and currently does not have a set release date. Check our Netflix stories regularly to stay up to date with the newest and latest shows being added to Netflix.
