Conductor David Niemann to lead QPO to celebrate Europe Day 2022

A unique Europe Day celebration will take place at the Katara Opera House – the Cultural Village on May 28.

On this occasion, the French Embassy in Qatar, in collaboration with the German Embassy and the Katara Opera, in cooperation with the French Institute, are organizing a concert in tribute to Europe.
The concert is a great opportunity to celebrate and exchange cultures between the various nations of the European Union as well as with Qatar, he said in a statement.
The unity of Europe, the French Presidency of the EU and the strong relationship between Germany and France represented by this collaboration will be highlighted through the skillful work of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and the talented conductor David Niemann.
Through the rich program, the orchestra will be conducted by David Niemann and will play 11 pieces representing many European countries. The concert will celebrate the richness of European music, as a point of unity for cultures around the world.
The program offers famous composers such as Wagner, Berlioz but also technical pieces by Liszt such as “Hungarian Rhapsody”. The 1.5 hour concert will take place at 7:30 p.m.

David Niemann is a German conductor who is quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising conductors of his young generation. Winner of second prize in the 2015 Malko Conducting Competition, he was shortly afterwards appointed deputy conductor at the Opéra Orchester National de Montpellier, alongside conductor Michael Schoenwandt.
His talent and passion have made him a welcome addition to orchestras around the world, performing with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Denmark, Residentie Orkest, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra , Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and many more. .
