French envoy, KC principal discuss education plan

LAHORE: Scientific and higher education attaché of the French Embassy, ​​Sabine Vermillard visited Kinnaird College on Tuesday.

According to a press release, Ms. Sabine Vermillard met with the Principal of Kinnaird College, Dr. Rukhsana David, the Executive Director of the Center for Learning and Cultural Development Rizwan Anwar and the Principal, Ms. Maha Jamil, during her visit.

During the meeting, Ms. Sabine Vermillard discussed the possibility of increasing educational exchange programs and strengthening existing links with French universities, including the Catholic University of Lille. Ms. Sabine also shared ideas on educational opportunities for Pakistani students in French universities. Upcoming educational activities, the French language summer camp in Kinnaird and the student exchange program with France and the engagement of teachers with French institutes were also discussed at the meeting.

Challenges, Future Prospects of Poultry Industry Discussed: The Department of Poultry Production, Lahore University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences held a seminar on Tuesday on “Current Challenges and Future Prospects of Poultry Industry” at its Ravi campus.

Rana Ghulam Sabir and Dr. Muhammad Faheem were the speakers for the seminar while Chairman of Poultry Production Department Dr. Shahid Mehmood and a number of students attended the seminar. Rana Ghulam Sabir gave an in-depth lecture on Poultry Entrepreneurship as a Professional Career while Dr. Muhammad Faheem spoke about the business opportunities and challenges of poultry marketing.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Punjab Rural Support Program (PRSP), Abid Saeed, visited UVAS and met with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nasim Ahmad. A detailed meeting was also held in the union room with Abid Saeed. Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad chaired the meeting while Prof. Dr. Aneela Zameer Durrani, Director of Continuing Education and Extension Institute Dr. Qurban Hussain, Dr. Sanaullah Bhatti and other faculty members were present. During the meeting, Abid Saeed solicited suggestions, discussed various areas of collaboration with UVAS. Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad suggested works for development of UVAS Business Incubation Center, Rural Women Empowerment, Graduate Student Internship, Farming Community Profitability in collaboration with PRSP.
